A must see bird's eye view of Tokyo
Eight million people strong, Tokyo has so much going on that it only makes sense that it's one of the top tourist destinations in the world. From international theme parks to Japanese cultural staples like Ryogoku (Ueno-Asakusa-Ryogoku), the center of the Sumo world, this metropolis is bursting with attractions.

Move over, Paris. Not only does Tokyo have its own Disney resort, including Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea , but the Tokyo Tower is forty-two feet taller than the Eiffel Tower! This 1,092-foot landmark -- the tallest self-supporting steel structure in the world -- features a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and Mount Fuji. More than a building, the Tokyo Tower features an aquarium, wax museum, and a Ripley's Believe-it-or-Not. Glimpses from the Tokyo City View observation deck on the top floors of the Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills are equally stunning.

A must-see sight for Hello Kitty fans, Sanrio Puroland is the home to this and many other lovable characters. Attracting international crowds, it's one of Japan's most popular theme parks, with family-friendly rides and nightly fireworks displays in summer. Visitors of all ages can also say hello to more than 2,600 animals at the Tokyo Ueno Zoo in the beautiful Ueno Park, where giant pandas and a five-story pagoda are just a couple of the highlights.

Another outdoor attraction is the Imperial Palace, home of the Japan's emperor. While the palace interior is not open to the public, tours take visitors around the grounds and through the stunning gardens. Late-sleepers should rise early one morning to experience the Tsukiji Fish Market. Open for business at 3 a.m., the famous tuna auctions are in full force by 5:30, and vegetable auctions begin an hour after that.
