Just across the Rainbow Bridge from downtown, you'll find a city of shopping and seaside breezes at Aqua City--a large-scale shopping complex on the beautiful island of Odaiba (Odaiba-Ariake). Aqua City's 80 shops range from international name-brand boutiques to stores selling more casual clothes, jewelry, household, and everyday items. Specialty stores at Aqua City include Root Star for accessories, cosmetics, and stationery; the Daiso for fun and inexpensive toys and gifts; Le Edo for products depicting your favorite characters; and Nodaya for wine, tableware, and shochu (a distilled alcoholic drink native to Japan). Aqua City has an extensive food court and 60 restaurants and cafes with views of Tokyo Bay, the bridge, and Odaiba's own replica of the Statue of Liberty. You'll also find massage and relaxation salons, beauty parlors, alteration services, and the 13-screen Cinema Mediage movie complex for your enjoyment and convenience. There's even a working Shiba Daijingu shrine in Aqua City, with a stunning panoramic view of the water and downtown Tokyo. Aqua City's stores are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; the restaurants are open until 11 p.m., with a few staying open until the morning's early hours.
